Setup

  1. Using your masking tape, create one long line along the floor (It doesn’t matter how long or short, just long enough for your child to stand on)
  2. Now repeat step one, and create another line, make this one about one foot away from the first.
  3. Repeat the above steps with as many lines as you want. We did 4 but I did space mine further apart. Next time I would make them closer together.
  4. Using your marker write “start” on the first line. On the next line write “1” and continue up the ladder.

How to play

  1. Stand on the start line and jump with two feet together from line to line.
  2. Now start on the start line and see which line you can jump too. How far can you leap?

Extension ideas

Repeat the above steps with different actions. You could try

  • Jumping backwards
  • Hopping
  • Skipping over lines
  • Jumping between lines
  • Stretching. How far can you stretch from the first line?
