Nature vases – Happy Days – Bucket Filled

Nature vases

These nature vases were a super simple activity to create and a wonderful way to explore the natural world around us.

We drew some vases on some recycled cardboard, carefully poked some holes at the top and then took our vases with us on our daily “lock down walk”. Along the way we looked out for special items that caught our attention and then poked those objects through the holes to create a personalised and beautiful bouquet of natural wonders.

Setup

  1. Using your markers draw a vase at the bottom of your piece of cardboard and decorate it. Be as creative as you like!
  2. Carefully use a pencil to poke holes in the top half of your cardboard. Punch a few holes, punch many, there’s no limit.
  3. You’re ready to take your cardboard vases out on a nature hunt. Head out for a walk in your street, explore your garden or head to a park.
  4. Look out for some natural items to collect. I encouraged my children to find things that were already on the ground so that we weren’t picking anything from trees.  Once you’ve found an item of interest poke it through one of the holes and watch your bouquet of natural wonders come to life. Simply beautiful!
